Kathryn Joann Kemberling

Kathryn Joann Kemberling, 49, of 2316 Snydertown Road Danville, PA died Friday morning, September 2, 2005 at her residence.  She was born June 25, 1956 in Bloomsburg, PA the daughter of Claude O. and Shirley J. Jordan Beaver of Elysburg, PA. 

Kathy was an administrative assistant with Kemberling Auto Sales & Service of Bloomsburg, PA.  She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Upper Augusta Township, Northumberland County and formerly  attended the Mount Zion United Methodist Church Franklin Township Columbia County where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and Program Director.

Kathy was a devoted homemaker, her greatest passion being a fulltime mother.  She volunteered herself tirelessly to her family and her community.  This included being a former Cub Scout den mother and cub master in the Elysburg Cub Scout Pack.  She was a Girl Scout volunteer, 4H Leader and a member of the Montour Delong Fair.  Kathy also was a devoted volunteer in the Danville School classrooms and led International Day Programs at the Riverside Elementary School and Danville Middle School.  She also volunteered with the Danville High School Drama Club.  She was also a T-Railer Cheerleading Advisor for Teams Orange A & B.  Kathy was also a vibrant coach of the Danville Area Community Center’s basketball team called  “The Stars”.  Her volunteering also included the American Red Cross Danville Chapter, Blood Services and Disaster Relief.  She was a current Danville Area School Board member and served on the Joint Operating Committee for Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech School. She enjoyed Photography and horseback riding.  Kathy was an avid RV-er having traveled to all the states in the continental United States alongside her family.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years Philip J. Kemberling whom she married August 31, 1984.  She is survived by one son, Thomas E. Kemberling.  She is also survived by two daughters; Kelly June Kemberling and Amber Marie Kemberling, both at home.  Also surviving is one brother, Claude D. Beaver and sister-in-law Karen of Maidencreek Township PA.  She is also survived by two treasured friends Fred and Em Styer of Catawissa, PA.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Mount Pleasant Road Upper Augusta Township Northumberland County with her pastor the Reverend David W. Stough officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Franklin Township Columbia County, PA.  Friends will be received Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W Mahoning Street Danville, PA and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  The family will provide flowers.  In lieu of flowers,  memorial contributions may be made to the Kathy Kemberling Memorial Fund First Columbia Bank and Trust c/o Trust Department PO Box 240 Bloomsburg, PA 17815 for her daughters college education.
