92, died Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center. She
had been a resident of 414 Pine Street Danville, PA. She was born
September 17, 1912 in Danville, PA the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Luella Werkheiser Divel. She was the granddaughter of The Honorable Henry Divel,
the Montour County Associate Judge from 1895-1905.
She graduated from
Radnor High School in Wayne, PA in 1930. She also attended Peirce Business
School in Philadelphia, PA in 1931 and The Kathleen Dell Secretarial School
in Brookline, Massachusetts. Henrietta was a member of Pine Street
Evangelical Lutheran Church Danville, PA, a charter member of the Danville
Community Players, a member of the Soroptomists of Danville PA and the
Geisinger Medical Center Auxillary.
She enjoyed reading,
knitting and playing bridge.
Henrietta worked in
the Mail and File Department during World War II for the American Red Cross
in New Guinea and Australia. She served as the Executive Secretary of the
Danville Chapter of the American Red Cross during the 1950ís. Thirdly, she
was first director of Volunteer Services for Geisinger Medical Center of
