Robert C. Stine,
87, of 235 Black Run Road, Madison Township, Bloomsburg, PA died early
Thursday morning at his residence. He was born January 17, 1917 in
Buckhorn, PA the son of the late Harry F. and Hannah W. Shellenberger
He graduated from
Styers One Room Schoolhouse Kitchen Road Danville, PA. Mr. Stine served
with the Mounted Calvary of the United States Army during World War II. He
was a member of the Dutch Hill Emanuel Bible Church. He was also a member
of the Buckhorn Fire Company. Mr. Stine was a self-employed dairy and
crop farmer in Madison Township Columbia County. He also had been
employed by Philco in Watsontown, PA.
He was married for 58
years to Thelma J. English Stine whom he married December 8, 1945. In
addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Douglas R. Stine and
his wife Billie Jo of Danville, PA; Harry K. Stine of Stuttgart, Germany and
Jimmie C. Stine of Pasadena, Maryland. He is also survived by three
grandchildren; Jarrod D., Shanna J. and Ariel N. Stine. Also surviving
is one brother H. Myron Stine of Danville, PA and numerous nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry W. Stine and daughter,
Jean W. Stine;both on November 7, 1955.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM from the
Miller-Visneski Funeral Home 10 West
Mahoning Street with the Reverend Allen F. Acor officiating. Burial will
follow in Elan Memorial Park Lime Ridge, PA. Friends will be received from
11:30 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to
Dutch Hill Emanuel Bible Church 592 Dutch Hill Road Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Honor Guard of the American
Legion and VFW.
