Naomi B. Webber, 87

Naomi B. Webber, 87, a resident of Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph Manor Danville, PA and formerly of 601 Avenue E Riverside, PA and Penns Creek, PA died Wednesday afternoon, November 24, 2004 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA.   She was born January 28, 1917 in Shamokin, PA the daughter of the late Ralph and Naomi Dingle Hoover.

 

She graduated from Shamokin High School and was a member of St. Peterís United Methodist Church Riverside, PA. 

 

Mrs. Webber was a very creative individual who enjoyed playing the organ, painting, sewing, crocheting and music, all of which were self-taught.  She was an avid reader. 

 

She was married for 60 years to the late Frank C. Webber who preceded her in death August 2, 1997.  Together, they owned Webberís Harmony Shop Mill Street Danville, PA from 1962-1978 and very much enjoyed traveling especially to the sea coast. 

 

Surviving is one son F. Daniel Webber and wife Pat of Bloomsburg, PA and two daughters, Nancy J. Fox of Riverside, PA and Linda R. Beyer and husband Jon of Riverside, PA, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister Rachel Slessler of Riverside, PA.  Mrs. Webber was preceded in death by two brothers; Thomas and Robert Hoover and one sister Lorraine Lauer. 

 

Memorial services will be held Friday, December 3, 2004 at 11:30 AM from the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA with her pastor the Reverend Donald N. Hurley officiating assisted by Reverend David J. Mouw Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church Danville, PA.  Burial will follow in St. Peterís (Blue Church) United Church of Christ Cemetery at Overlook in Paxinos, PA.  Friends will be received from 10:30 until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to The Thomas Beaver Free Library 25 East Market Street Danville, PA 17821.
