Marjorie H. Derr, 72

Marjorie H. Derr, 72, of 15 Oak Street Danville, PA died Thursday morning, November 4, 2004 at Geisinger Medical Center.  She was born July 21, 1932 in Danville, PA the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Kathryn E. Ritter Wray.

She graduated from Danville High School in 1950.  She was employed by the First National Bank of Danville, PA from 1950-1952 and by TRW in Danville, PA.  She was employed by the Danville Area School District as secretary to the Business Manager for 25 years. 

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Danville, PA.  Mrs. Derr had been a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Danville, PA and with the American Red Cross ministering to shut-ins.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and doing word search puzzles. 

She was married April 25, 1953 for 34 years to the late William C. Derr, Jr. who preceded her in death December 15, 1987.  She was a loving and wonderful mother and mother-in-law to daughter Lisa M. Tokar and her husband Jack J. of Danville, PA and her son Mark E. Derr and his wife Lynne of Mount Wolf, PA.  She is also survived by four grandchildren; Kiersten Tokar of Danville, PA and Megan, Erin and Gregory Derr of Mount Wolf, PA.  One sister, Charlotte Fowler, of McConnellsburg, PA also survives her. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 8, 2004 from the Trinity Lutheran Church East Market and Church Street Danville, PA with the Reverend Michael A. Greenauer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville, PA.  Friends will be received Sunday  from 6-8 PM at the Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA and also from 9:45 AM 10:45 AM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Camp Echo c/o Dawn Bressler 727 Oak Street Bloomsburg, PA 17815,  the Maus Fund c/o Althea Wertman 3 Meadow Avenue Danville, PA 17821, the Danville Food Bank c/o Shiloh United Church of Christ 500 Bloom Street Danville, PA  17821 or the Building Fund of Trinity Lutheran Church 209 Church Street Danville, PA  17821.
