June M. Crowers, 78, of 545 Terrace Avenue Mt. Joy, PA since May 1990 and formerly of 2447 Eldon Avenue Drexel Hill Delaware County, PA died Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Hospice of Lancaster County, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster, PA. 

She was born July 16, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret McCormick Perkins.  She graduated from John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA in 1944.  Mrs. Crowers worked as a law clerk at Blank, Rome, Comiskey and McCauley Law Firm in Center City Philadelphia for many years retiring in 1989.  She was always serving others through her involvement in being a Girl Scout Leader for many years, a Sunday School Teacher and serving on the vestry at the church. She was also active in the Lancaster Red Rose Christian Women’s Club.  Mrs. Crowers devoted seven years to volunteering for Lancaster Hospice after the loss of her husband Kenneth J. Crowers of 39 years who preceded her in death August 25, 1990.  She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Lancaster Quilters Guild.  Mrs. Crowers was a loving mother and adored her two grandchildren.

One daughter, Gail J. Irons and her husband Richard J. of Mount Joy survives her along with her two grandchildren Joshua R. Irons and Heidi G. Irons.  One sister Jane Wright and her husband Bryant of Menlo, California, two nephews and one niece, also survive her. 

A Requiem Mass will be held Monday, September 27, 2004 at 11:00 AM from the St. Edwards Episcopal Church 2453 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster PA with the Reverend Stephen C. Casey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Joy.  There will be no viewing.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA  17604-4125 or St. Edwards Episcopal Church.
