John S. Fetterolf, Jr.

John S. Fetterolf, Jr., 78, of 750 Spruce Street Royersford, PA died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA.  He was born December 6, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John S. and Gladys Van Ness Fetterolf, Sr. 

He graduated from Royersford High School in 1942 and attended Lehigh University.  Mr. Fetterolf served in the US Navy during World War II.  He was a founding partner of the Fetterolf Machine Company Royersford, PA which was a specialty valve manufacturer and since 1970 has been called The Fetterolf Corporation in Skippack, PA.  Mr. Fetterolf was past president of the Royersford Lions Club; served 17 years on the Royersford Borough Council where he served as President in the latter part of his term.  He also served as chairman of the Zoning Board.  From 1988 he was a supporting member of the Springford Area Historical Society.  Mr. Fetterolf recently built a blacksmith shop in his backyard to forge old replica hinges and metal work.  He enjoyed traveling and sailing. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Bauer Fetterolf whom he married April 15, 1950.  He is also survived by two sons; John S. Fetterolf, III and Jeffrey P. Fetterolf and one daughter; Jerry Lynn Yanchek; all of Royersford, PA and nine grandchildren.  Two sisters; Elizabeth Schmidt of Lewisburg, WV and Trudy Laurenson of Renick, West Virginia, also survive him.

A memorial service will be held from the Springford Area Historical Society.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Friends will be received.
