Esther Morgan

Esther Morgan, 84, of Grandview Health Home Danville, PA where she had been a guest since September 1999 died Thursday afternoon, January 1, 2004 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA.  She moved to Danville, PA from Nesquehoning, PA in 1980.  She was born June 26, 1919 in Nesquehoning, PA the daughter of the late John and Anastasia Kostko Paluka. 

She graduated from Nesquehoning High School.  She was employed for thirty years by Berkley Bags in Jim Thorpe, PA.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Danville, PA.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading. 

Mrs. Morgan was married for 61 years to the late Raymond G. Morgan who died August 9, 2001.  She is survived by one son; Joseph R. Morgan of Smyrna, Georgia and one daughter; Laraine N. Lyons of Danville, PA; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph and George Paluka. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM from the  St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Hubert Chapel with the Reverend William M. Weary officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thomas Beaver Free Library 25 E. Market Street Danville, PA.
