David L. Unger,
50, of 70 Grubb Hill Road Danville, PA where he had resided since 1985,
moving from Elysburg died Friday evening, August 8, 2003 at his residence.
He was born February 12, 1953 in Bloomsburg, PA the son of the late Melvin
“Nick” and Vera Snyder Unger.
He graduated from Southern Columbia High School in 1971. He attended
Susquehanna University and graduated from Bloomsburg University with a
degree in Biology in 1976.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda J. Pulaski Unger whom he
married June 13, 1981 and one daughter; Holly P. Unger at home.
He was employed for 26 years as a senior environmental engineer by Merck,
Inc. Riverside, PA. He was a member of St. John’s “Vought’s” Lutheran
Church Mayberry Township Montour County, PA. Mr. Unger was the Vice
Chairman for Northumberland County Conservation District; Chairman of
Northumberland County Agriculture Land Preservation and he was a member of
the Pennsylvania DEP Roundtable. Mr. Unger was also a member of the
Elysburg Lodge #414 F & AM.
He enjoyed conservation, bird watching and the outdoors.
Memorial services will be held Monday evening at 8:00 PM from the
Miller-Visneski Funeral Home 10 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA with the
Reverend Arnold Bensen officiating. Burial will be private in the St.
John’s “Vought’s” Lutheran Church Cemetery RR 5 Danville, PA. Friends will
be received from 6:00 PM until the time of the service.
