Robert T. Kessler

Robert T. Kessler, 74, of 15 “A” Street Danville, PA where he had resided for the past 37 years died Monday afternoon, January 5, 2004 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA. 

He was born September 5, 1929 in Danville, PA the son of the late Richard L. and Jane O’Neil Kessler.  He graduated from Danville High School and he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church Danville, PA where he served on the vestry.  Mr. Kessler was a member of American Legion Post 40 Danville, PA and a life member of the Washington Fire and Hose Company Danville, PA.  Mr. Kessler was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and an avid football fan especially for Penn State football.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years whom he married December 3, 1951, Myrtle M. Gaston Kessler; one son, Mark T. Kessler of Danville, PA and three daughters; Mrs. Gwendolyn J. and son-in-law James W. Lewis, Sr. of Danville, PA; Mrs. Kathryn L. and son-in-law Terry L. Bowers of Selinsgrove, PA and Mrs. Mary Lou and son-in-law Larry D. Raup of Danville, PA.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Mr. Kessler was preceded in death by three brothers; Jacob R., Daniel O. and J. Lee Kessler. 

A Requiem Eucharist will be held Thursday at 11:30 AM from the Christ Memorial Episcopal Church 120 E. Market Street Danville, PA with the Reverend Frank A. Edmands officiating.  Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery Danville, PA.  Friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of service in the Community Room of the church.  The family will provide flowers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Memorial Episcopal Church PO Box 363 Danville, PA  17821. Military rites will be accorded by the Montour County Veterans Association.
