Lewis Domer Riley


June 13, 2020


Lewis Domer Riley, 90, of Osteen FL and formerly of Danville PA passed away June 12, 2020 at Vintage Knolls Danville PA where he had been a guest since June 2, 2020.  He was born December 4, 1929, the son of the late Lewis D., Sr. and Anne Dietz Riley.

He was married for 63 years to his loving wife, Helen Riley who preceded him in death on October 7, 2018.  They were married in Danville at Pine St. Lutheran Church.

He served his country in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Engine mechanic from 1947 to 1949.

He was employed as a CNC Operator/Supervisor at TRW in Danville for 40 years from where he retired.

His enjoyments included golfing and bicycling which he did one or the other most days.    Lew was a card shark and enjoyed playing poker, euchre and pinochle.  In the later years, Helen convinced him to play bingo.  He was hooked and rarely missed a game.

He is survived by two daughters; Cindy Vought and her husband Butch of Buffton, South Carolina, Tracy Cornelius and her husband Chadd of Wilmington DE and two sons; Douglas Riley and his wife Connie of Danville PA and Mikel Riley and his wife Sharon of Danville PA  Also surviving are six grandchildren: Brian Shobert, Jennifer Reed, Stacie Holdinsky, and Ashton, Corbin and Logan Daviston; 10 great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   Three brothers; Robert and David Riley of Danville PA, and James Riley of Grand Coulee, Washington, also survive him. 

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy Riley and one sister, June Riley.

A Celebration of Lewis’s life will be held at a later date.   Burial will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Cape Canaveral FL with Military Rites accorded.
